Born and raised in Belgium, Catherine Somzé (1977) studied Art History at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and completed her master’s degree with an Erasmus grant at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. She then received a master’s degree in Film and Television Studies from the International School for Humanities and Social Sciences and kept on studying till 2006 when she obtained a third master in Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam.
She is currently still living in Amsterdam where she is combining her work as a freelance art historian and media critic with a research in the field of Media Studies and a teaching position at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
